Summary
Our Nordkapp project in Norway offers a unique vision of combining a cutting-edge laboratory and a hospitality hotel under one roof. Carefully responding to the environmental demands of the Arctic, this structure brings together scientific research and hospitality in one integrated building.
In order to preserve the functionality and privacy of the building, the structure was designed to separate the laboratory and hotel areas at ground level with a clear line. This separation allows both areas to operate independently while sharing common sustainability solutions.
In response to Nordkapp’s six-month continuous day and night cycles, our design incorporates an interior living space that simulates a balanced day-night rhythm. This innovative solution allows occupants to feel the flow of time, supporting their natural routines and quality of life.
In line with our commitment to sustainability, the building is equipped with kinetic panels that meet its energy needs. This makes the building stand out as a self-sufficient facility with minimal environmental impact. The integration of this energy technology exemplifies our architectural approach that combines human needs with respect for the environment.
This project represents our vision for future architectural solutions that blend with user needs and the natural environment, surviving and thriving within the unique Arctic landscape.
